Security is of paramount importance on today's internet. We pay special attention to each server's security to provide peace of mind for our clients. All HostDime servers undergo a five point security inspection when they are deployed.

Check kernel version. The Linux kernel is the core system program of every Linux system.. We always check your kernel version to make sure there are no known exploitable vulnerabilities. If any kernel vulnerabilities are discovered, we will update it immediately and contact you to schedule a reboot.

Check PHP settings. There are several PHP settings that we recommend be disabled on servers that do not require them.

• » “allow_url_fopen”. This setting allows PHP to treat any URL as if it were a file. This poses a security risk for certain PHP applications that do not correctly sanitize include and fopen statements. Most applications do not require “allow_url_fopen” and we strongly recommend that this be disabled (especially for servers running PHP4).
• » “allow_url_include”. This setting was introduced in PHP5.2. Having “allow_url_include” disabled can allow PHP5.2 users to safely enable “allow_url_fopen” if it is needed by an application. Almost no PHP applications require that “allow_url_include” be enabled. For this reason we recommend that “allow_url_include” always be disabled.
• » “register_globals”. This setting allows global PHP variables to be set at runtime through a URL. Having it enabled could allow attackers to modify arbitrary PHP variables. This can lead to SQL injections, arbitrary code execution, and other exploits for vulnerable PHP applications. We generally recommend that “register_globals” be disabled.
• In addition to these three PHP settings, we also recommend that certain vulnerable PHP functions be disabled. In doing so, the effectiveness of PHP shells and other PHP based malware is reduced. The list of functions that we generally recommend that users disable is as follows: dl, exec, shell_exec, system, passthru, popen, pclose, proc_open, proc_nice, proc_terminate, proc_get_status, proc_close, pfsockopen, leak, apache_child_terminate, posix_kill, posix_mkfifo, posix_setpgid, posix_setsid, posix_setuid

Check apache mod_security ruleset. Apache mod_security is a software firewall which scans incoming HTTP requests for known exploits. We maintain an internal ruleset for many known exploits. We always check to ensure that the latest ruleset is installed on a server prior to its deployment. Optionally, we can configure your server to daily update its ruleset to ensure that your server is always using our latest ruleset.

Check CSF/LFD configuration. CSF/LFD is a software firewall suite which supports automated brute force detection and prevention, process tracking, SYN flood protection, and a wide range of other automated security features. We install and configure CSF/LFD on all our standard Linux servers by default.

Check System Binaries We audit your server's system binary package versions (such as BIND, apache, udev, etc.) to ensure that they are up to date and not vulnerable to any known exploits.

Our team will secure your VPS at installation and mainain its security. The list of programs installed and tasks undertaken include Firewall installation, SpamAssassin install and configuration and Anti-virus install. The system is then hardened against syn-flood attacks, DNS poisoning, spoofed packets and ICMP attacks - amd alot more..

Network Administration
We manage the network behind your node and guarantee its availability via our solid 99.9% SLA. Software Administration
Your VPS comes installed with a variety of software including the operating system, control panel as well as related services like Apache, MySQL, Qmail and Bind. Hardware Maintenance
We manage and monitor all the hardware in our servers and VPS nodes. Sometimes hardware can fail and if does we are aware and replace faulty hardware immediately. We have a large stockpile of drives, ram dims, PSUs, cables and even spare spare servers to draw from if hardware ever needs replacing.

Only servers with cPanel installed will receive the full benefits of management.

We offer full data protection/backup as an optional addon when your server is ordered, or can be added later if needed. We strongly recommend this if you want to keep your data safe and secure from disasters.

We understand that your data is extremely important to you. That's why we give you an option to backup your Dedicated Server twice a day! With our advanced backup systems, data loss is a thing of the past! We will backup your Dedicated Server every 12 hours, to our secure OFF-SITE facility. We call our backup system "Daily Concrete Backup" because it's located in a facility in a different continent. Now you know how serious we are about your files.

Have you ever been with a host with which you would experience a window of lag every single day? Did you contact them almost every day and they would say it was due to backups running? • Will you migrate my files/websites from another provider?

  This is a question that we probably get asked the most. If you have ordered cPanel/WHM with your dedicated server and your other provider also has cPanel/WHM we would transfer all of your data over. Once you receive your account details, please open a support ticket.

• Is a domain name required when ordering a package?

  When ordering a dedicated server, you will be asked for a domain. You do not need to purchase one, you can just use anything for a place holder or if you need a domain you can purchase one from us at any time.

• Does tmzVPS have an uptime guarantee?

  tmzVPS endeavors to have network connectivity available by http access by third parties 99.9% of the time. If we do not meet this you will be credited. Contact sales for further information.

• Can I upgrade or downgrade my account?

  To upgrade your dedicated server, you will have two options. 1. You can upgrade the hardware on the node like RAM, Disk Space, Bandwidth etc. 2. If you outgrow your node and it does not make sense to upgrade the hardware on it, you can always upgrade to a new more powerful dedicated server. • Do you provide quotes for Dedicated Servers not listed?

  Sure we do! If you need a price on a dedicated server that is not listed on our website, please contact our sales department at sales@tmzvps.com and someone will get back to you with a competitive quote.

• Do you offer a Money Back Guarantee?

  Unfortunately, we do not provide any Money Back Guarantee on our dedicated servers.

• How long does it take for my Dedicated Server to be fully active?

  Dedicated servers are usually setup within a few hours, but can take up to 48 hours. Please note that the funds must pass our FRAUD detection system before the order is deployed for setup.

• Why are some locations more expensive than others? ?

  Some locations have higher operating costs than other locations. For us to remain profitable and provide the quality service that we do now, we must raise the prices by a few dollars on certain plans and services.

• What type of payment methods does tmzVPS offer?
